Becoming financially independent and making work optional requires many qualities in a person. But three qualities I’ve learned from our most successful clients are hard-work, patience, and faith in the future. This blog is for those of you who are willing to put in the long hours, stay determined to master your craft in life, and remain realistically optimistic about life in these United States.
Success means walking against the crowd, skating to where the puck is going to be, and avoiding group-think. But this requires focus from all the distractions. (In retirement planning it means not using the last 48-hour news cycle to plan for a two-person, three-decade retirement.)
Through our podcasts we will bring you insight, opinion, and ideas to challenge and inspire you with a realistic and down-to-earth outlook on making work optional.
We look forward to enjoying your company as a regular listener of our podcast and dream of the day when you become a contributor by sharing your interesting stories and tidbits with us on social media or emailing us at getstarted (at) retirewithtrue (dot) com.

About Bryan Sarff
I’m the Co-Founder and a Personal Wealth Manager of True Wealth & Company, based in Overland Park, KS. We help successful people plan to become financially independent and aspire to make work optional.
I was born and raised in Cape Girardeau, MO in the Heartland of America. I’m a Midwestern guy with Midwestern values… hard-work, perseverance, and faith in the future.
My adult working life began in operations, materials, and production management. (If you are looking for a Financial Advisor that understand the importance of cycle counts, believes in lean manufacturing, and was there when Six Sigma was born; congratulations, you’ve found your guy!) I was employed by Lear Corporation and General Electric in several management roles before I made the transition to financial services in 2003 and today own True Wealth and Company, LLC, an independent RIA firm.
Over the years, you’ve probably heard my voice when I hosted radio shows on Hot Talk 1510AM, KCMO Talk Radio 710AM, and on Talk 980 AM. I’ve spoken at several industry conferences and presented well over 300 educational workshops all around the Greater Kansas City Area.
When I’m away from the office I enjoy landscaping our yard, biking, bar-b-queing, and the pursuit of a smaller waistline. My wife Laura, who works at Hallmark, and I have three daughters, Jessica, Rachel, and Natalie who keep us busy cheering for them from activity to activity. All of us love spoiling our two Westies, Samantha and Abby.
